Romancing the Woods has over two decades of experience crafting rustic outdoor benches. These pages showcase only a fraction of Rob's creations over the years. His bench designs seamlessly blend into various residential and commercial landscapes. Romancing the Woods has had the privilege of constructing natural benches for numerous parks and gardens across the nation, including the Lion King Theater at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and the Olana Historic Site in Hudson, New York. The majority of his woodland benches are crafted from locally harvested bark-on eastern red cedar trees and branches sourced from the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountain Regions of New York State. On occasion, mountain laurel boughs are incorporated, which is a unique and durable wood characterized by its dramatic natural curves. The structural joints are secured using countersunk galvanized lag bolts concealed with bark-on plugs, while decorative elements are fastened with ceramic-coated screws. The utilization of natural materials in construction renders Romancing the Woods benches exceptionally durable and weather-resistant in diverse environments.
